Easter Sunday Worship from Kintore

Online Easter Sunday Worship from Kintore
for use at home

Welcome to our online Easter Sunday worship service from Kintore. Rather than have it all in a single video for you to watch, you are invited to participate in this service yourself. There are written prayers for you to read, say out loud or share with your family, there are hymns and prayers you can listen to or sing along to, and there is a brief Palm Sunday reading and message from Neil that you can watch. These are all laid out below in an order of service for you to follow.

Call to Worship

Hallelujah! Christ is risen!
He is risen indeed!

The kingdom of this world has become
the kingdom of our Lord, and of His Christ,
and He shall reign forever and ever!

We give thanks to You, Lord God Almighty,
who was and is and is to come!

Prayers of Approach & Confession

Risen Lord Jesus,
we adore you and praise your name.
Today you defeated death and rose again.
You died on the cross that we might be free.
Thank you, risen Lord, that you did this for us,
so that we might enjoy the freedom of eternal life.
Risen Lord Jesus,
we love you, we worship you, we adore you.

Gracious Father, you sent your son to die and rise to new life in order that death might be brought to an end and that we might live a new life in Him. Yet we confess that we too often have chosen to remain captive to doubt and fear and ways that lead to death. By our thoughts, words, and actions, we have scorned your love, diminished the lives of others, and defaced your image in us. Father, forgive us for Jesus’ sake, and enable us by His resurrection power to live no longer for ourselves but for Him who died and rose again for us.

This is the Good News:
Jesus was delivered over to death for our sins and raised to life for our justification. Thanks be to God. Amen.

Eucharistic Prayer with Intercessions

O Eternal Wisdom,
we praise you and give you thanks,
because death could not contain you.
You broke forth from the comfort of the grave;
before you the stone was moved,
and the tomb of our world was opened wide.

For on this day you were raised in power
and revealed yourself to women as a beloved stranger,
offering for the rituals of the dead
the terror of new life and of desire fulfilled.

Therefore, with the woman who gave you birth,
the women who befriended you and fed you,
who argued with you and touched you,
the woman who anointed you for death,
the women who met you, risen from the dead,
and with all your lovers, men and women, throughout the ages,
we praise you, saying

Holy, holy, holy, resurrection God,
Heaven and earth are full of your glory;
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is the one who comes in the name of God;
Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is our brother Jesus,
who walks with us the road of our grief,
and is known again in the breaking of bread;
who, on the night he was handed over,
took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and said:
‘This is my body, which is for you.
Do this to remember me.’
In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying:
‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood.
Do this whenever you drink it, to remember me.’

Christ has died.
Christ is risen.
Christ will come again.

Come now, disturbing spirit of our God,
breathe on us and make us one body in Christ.
Open our graves, unbind our eyes, and name us here;
touch and heal all that has been buried in us,
that we need not cling to our pain,
but may go forth with power to release resurrection in the world.

Prayers of Intercession

Let us pray to the Lord,
who is our refuge and stronghold.

For the health and well-being of our nation,
that all who are fearful and anxious
may be at peace and free from worry:
Lord, graciously hear us.

For the isolated and housebound,
that we may be alert to their needs,
and care for them in their vulnerability:
Lord, graciously hear us.

For our homes and families,
our schools and young people,
and all in any kind of need or distress:
Lord, graciously hear us.

For a blessing on our local community of Kintore,
that our neighbourhoods may be places of trust and friendship,
where all are known and cared for:
Lord, graciously hear us.

We commend ourselves, and all for whom we pray,
to the mercy and protection of God.
Merciful Father,
accept these prayers
for the sake of your Son,
our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father in heaven hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever.
Amen.
