Sunday’s Message:

In an extraordinary conversation with his disciples (Matthew 16:21-28) Jesus begins to talk about the journey he will make to the Cross.  The disciples are worried – angry even – at such talk.   In response Jesus warns them that any would-be  follower of his would also have to bear a cross.  What astounds us is the way in which Jesus speaks of such suffering.  For him such suffering is not the end of life but the way in which we “find” life!  What sort of self-imposed suffering is this that can  help us “find life”?  Where do we usually seek to find life?
