Sunday’s Message:
This week we look a pivotal moment in Jesus’ ministry: Matthew 16:13-20.
Having called his 12 disciples and spent considerable time with them, he takes them north to Caesarea Philippi.  There he asks them the critical question:  “Who do you say that I am?”
The Gospel invites us to each answer the question ourselves: “Who do we say Jesus is?”
As we focus on this passage I wonder: how precisely do we “say” who we believe Jesus is?  Is it simply a matter of giving assent to the Christian creeds?  Is it enough to believe it in our hearts?  Or are we called to say it out loud?  And, if the latter, how exactly do we do so?
